"I would not be where I am today, or have accomplished what I have, if it wasn’t for Impact Hockey and Tim Preston. I have been training with Impact Hockey since I was 15 years old and there is a reason why I keep coming back to train every off season with IHD, The dedicated staff and personalized training program I receive is so valuable to me and my career. I recommend Impact Hockey and Tim Preston to any and all players who are looking to get the edge and the confidence in their development to improve their overall game.”

“During this past off season I was able to spend some valuable time on the ice with Tim Preston. Tim helped me develop my foot speed, quickness and puck skills at game speed. I believe the work I did with Tim helped me to prepare myself leading up to training camp”

I began training with Impact Hockey as a young 16-year-old Midget A player looking to better my hockey skills and work ethic, both on and off the ice. Not only did I get both of these, but the IHD summer program helped me to get into better overall shape, which helped me the most. The great group of high-level players that are in the program helped push me every session. I also did private sessions with Tim Preston and he did such a good job connecting and understanding what specific parts of the game I had to focus on and work on in order to get to the next I owe a lot of my success in hockey due to Tim Preston and Impact Hockey training programs.”

Training with impact Hockey Development and trainer Jordan Mackenzie has really helped me achieve all my off season goals. From putting on weight to increased strength and fitness performance, Impact Hockey provided the best training with top trainers and training partners. I recommend Impact Hockey Development to any hockey player looking to improve their overall strength and conditioning and achieve all their hockey goals.

Father of Connor Rankin, Tri City Americans (WHL), First-round pick in the WHL Draft.

Tim has been working with Connor for over four years through private and semi private lessons. Connor has also attended many of Tim’s spring and summer camps with Impact Hockey. Under Tim’s guidance Connor has greatly improved in all areas of the sport — skating, puck handling, shooting. Tim has also worked on conditioning and helped Connor to stay mentally focused. Training with Tim is always enjoyable and at the same time very intense. He demands a strong work ethic which only brings out the best in his students. Tim brings a level of enthusiasm and knowledge that is superior to most hockey instruction available. Also what separates Tim Preston from other skating coaches is he just doesn’t tell how to do it, Tim shows you. He is excellent at demonstrating the skill at a very high level. Tim has done wonders in preparing Connor for the next level of hockey. I would highly recommend Tim’s programs to anyone wishing to strongly develop any of their hockey skills. Thanks, Tim for all you have done for our son.

Parents of Bo and Cannon Pieper, Indiana Ice (USHL)

My wife and I have two sons that played hockey for Shattuck St. Mary’s prep team and now have moved on to the USHL. As parents, we were continually asked the question “Who do your sons train with?” We have been training with Tim Preston and Impact Hockey in Vancouver for the past five years. We have been told by most of our coaches that the thing that separates our boys from the others is that they do the little things right.

It is Tim Preston’s deep knowledge and understanding of the “physics” involved in each skill that makes him such a strong and effective coach. A lot of coaches can demonstrate moves and plays, but Tim can watch and find exactly which pieces are missing so that they can be executed properly. Tim is a master at this — he does not let the little things go by. During the summer, Canon and Bo train with Tim both in private lessons and as a part of his Impact Hockey training program. The boys travel from St. Paul Minnesota to Vancouver for five weeks and dedicate themselves to Tim’s training program on and off the ice. The results can speak for themselves and the boys feel they receive the absolute BEST in overall development.

The key is finding the right balance for your athlete’s training. You need a well rounded program that can provide the tools for all aspects of development. With the right staff, competitive environment and other elite players, you have the perfect balance for development. We know we have found this with Tim Preston and Impact Hockey.

I began skating with Tim Preston this past off season to get prepared for the start of the season. Tim was intense and demanding. His demeanour was motivating and challenging. He was able to put me through good hard skates where I felt I could focus on the areas I needed to develop to have success.

I came to Impact Hockey when I was just 15 years old, playing Midget B hockey in Langley. I was a smaller, skilled player that had always been told I was not big enough to play at a high level. I decided to train with Impact Hockey to get stronger and faster so I could put on the size I needed to prove I could make a jump to a higher level. At 17 years old, I made the Jump to Jr. B and at 19 was in my rookie season with the Surrey Eagles. I knew that playing Jr. A as a rookie did not give me much time to earn the ice time and opportunity. I needed to achieve my ultimate goal of playing in the NCAA with a scholarship, but I had the drive and desire to keep improving and do whatever it took to get there. In my 20-year-old season in the BCHL, I was able to score 36 goals and 53 assists for 89 points in 59 games. That was good enough for second overall in the entire league. After my 20-year-old season, I earned a scholarship to play and go to school at RIT — a division 1 NCAA school. I have been training with Impact Hockey since day one. When I started with Impact Hockey I was 15 years old playing in Midget B where no one thought I had a chance to move up. The staff at Impact Hockey believed in me and I believed in myself. I trained so hard to get to where I am today and the staff at Impact Hockey has been there for me each and every off season. I am so grateful to be able to work with IHD and I recommend their programs to all young players.

I owe a lot of my success to Impact Hockey Development. The dedicated staff and great group of players has made my past five off-seasons a rewarding and successful experience. IHD has pushed me to be the best I can be in all aspects of my training. Impact Hockey got me in great shape and a chance to go to that next level. I went from an overlooked player playing Midget B to Junior A hockey player, and I’m now in my Junior season at the university of Alaska-Fairbanks of the NCAA. Impact Hockey has been an influential part of my hockey development and has given me the tools to make my hockey goals a reality. I was a player that in my first year of Midget was cut from AAA hockey and due to my hard work and dedication I have become a great success story for others to follow. Impact Hockey can help other young players reach their own goals as well.
